Some great news, the pre-production sample run is almost ready.
The manufacturer has completed a set of samples and they are almost ready to send over for inspection. This is about a week behind schedule at the moment, but more on that below. The samples are still with the supplier in the UK at the moment so I have only seen images they sent but I can’t wait to get my own eyes and hands on them. The progress they have made is excellent. They have the tool paths, fixtures, and order of operations defined, and the parts are looking spot on. Below are some images of the parts fresh off the machine, and the surface finish for this stage in the process looks spectacular. These parts are still awaiting the finishing process’ and some final tweaks but I wanted to share the progress.
The next step is to finish these parts to final spec, then ship them over to the Netherlands so I can inspect them, sign them off or make any necessary adjustments with the machine shop, and we can move on to making the full batch. I will keep you fully updated.
As you may have seen in the news there are some unique circumstances unfolding at the moment with COVID situation in the UK, and the new UK and EU relationship still creating some uncertainty. I think it is expected that this will have some impact on my planned timeline, and as soon as I know more I will let you know. At the moment we are managing to stay more or less on track, but as soon as parts need to move then I think the real impact on the timeline will become apparent.

Thank you to everyone that placed a pre-order for the Type 15s. I have created this post as a central place to keep you informed of the steps, and to provide updates. Below you will find the expected timeline. If anything is to change then we will inform you via e-mail and update this post.
